Before.

For the past few weeks I’ve been working on organizing my photos.  This is no joke.  As I was looking through all of my “before” pictures of my house, deciding which ones I should share, I realized that they were worse than I thought.

It didn’t help that every single time we looked at the house (visit #1, visit #2, home inspection,,,you name it!) it was pouring rain – the kind that makes everything look gray.  Hopefully this is not too terrible an assault on your eyeballs, but enjoy!

Reminder:  this is NOT my furniture (at this point, not even my house)

Off the formal Living room is the Family Room / Workout room

OK it isn't really a workout room. It's a family room, but someone was clearly using it to store crap.

The Dining Room: We definitely kept the drapes. And the Plant. And the Chandelier. OK I'm lying, of course. But the chandy is still there - taunting me about not being able to afford it's replacement.

And now to the Kitchen - last updated in 1968 (in case you couldnl't tell from the countertops and dishwasher).

This view of the kitchen is to the left of the above photo. Off of the kitchen you can access the Mudroom and the Basement (through a pantry). Don't be jealous of that wallpaper!

Final view of the Kitchen (you can get a good look at that dishwasher and horrible ceiling in this one!). As you can see the kitchen is HUGE. Just awful-looking.

Through the Living Room, an open space at the bottom of the stairs leads to the Kitchen, a small powder room, and the Master Bedroom & Bath. Have you ever seen a more depressing Master Bedroom?

Master Bathroom - 2 Positives: 1) it's there. 2) double sinks. That's all I got.

Powder Room downstairs - notice anything familiar? These walls match the Master bedroom walls which match the Kitchen ceiling... hmmm... in'trestin'....

And now upstairs - those walls sure are YELLOW!

Upstairs there are 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, 1 Linen Closet and 1 unfinished space. This is Bedroom A. Have you ever-never seen any carpet so hideous???

And check out those school ceilings! As I'm looking back through these pictures, I start to think maybe we didn't get such a good deal on this house after all. In fact, maybe we paid too much for it ha!

Bedroom B is at the other end of the hallway at the top of the stairs. In the middle of the bedrooms is a bathroom.

Looking back on the way the house looked when we first purchased it, it makes me feel good about the progress we’ve made – from the yellowing, faded walls and trim, the terrible shed-paneling on the walls & ceilings, the kitchen from 1968 – I could go on and on! I can’t wait to start sharing some of the “AFTER” pictures!
